To All Area 18 Riding Club Members,
As part of our plans to move the Area forward, we would like to use the remainder of the training budget for 2011/12. One suggestion is to look at uptake of BRC examinations. Please could you read the information below and see if it's something you might be interested in. Please email me firstname.lastname@example.org by June 20th with any response or input members wish to have on this. Clearly we cannot run these days without sufficient interest. The training grant would only be able to subsidise cost, obviously the more people who attend the better we can use the funds and support costings for riders keen to accredit their skills and knowledge.
Details of the BRC exams...
As a member of an affiliated riding club, you can take BRC Riding and Welfare assessments. These are split into Seniors and Juniors and there are two parts to the exam: Riding and Welfare. The riding side of things assesses your riding ability while welfare focuses on stable management. What is so appealing about these assessments is that they are compatible with the BHS exams.
There are four levels to the Riding and Welfare assessments. If you pass Riding 3 with Jumping and Horse Welfare 3 you gain direct entry onto a BHS Stage 3 exam.
If you would like to do the BRC assessments without the pressure of jumping as well, you can complete Riding 3B and 4B which has the same elements as Riding 3A and 4A but you would not need to jump any obstacles.
The stages we could offer are BRC Riding and Welfare Stage 1, 2, 3A, 3B or 4.
